FAQ: What is a u-value?

A u-value measures the effectiveness of a material as an insulator. It is measured as watts per square metre or W/m2k. The lower the number, the better the insulation. This is important when it comes to windows and can be seriously affected by the quality of not only the workmanship but the installation of your windows.

We know that installation is key and that is why we made the investment with our installation teams and achieved the BSI kitemark on our installations back in 2006. Over the years this has improved the standards in every area. We are one of only 33 companies in the UK to hold the BSi kitemark for window and door installation.
