Bespoke Glazing Solution for Eighteen Luxurious Apartments, Ascot, Berkshire

Location: Ascot

Cholbury Place is an exclusive, crescent-shaped development of eighteen highly desirable, luxurious apartments in Ascot, featuring a bespoke glazing solution that includes double-glazed uPVC sliding sash windows, Ecoline bi-folding doors, AirMOD aluminium windows and doors, and four white roof lanterns, each working in harmony to create light-filled, luxurious apartments and penthouses with modern living spaces.

Situated only a short stroll away from prestigious Ascot High Street and the iconic Ascot Racecourse, this breathtaking project, designed by Trower Davies Architectural Consultants and Kebbell Homes, is a stunning boutique development of super-luxury residences that preserve the privacy and tranquillity that define Cholbury Place.

The multi-award-winning developer, Kebbell Homes, has established a reputation for designing and building exceptional, luxurious homes of outstanding quality throughout the UK for the last 70 years.

With a focus on precision glazing, transparency and natural light, the company buyer from Kebbell Development contacted Thames Valley Windows for a quote to supply and install uPVC vertical sliding sash windows and aluminium French doors in white for two blocks of luxurious apartments at their Ascot development.

After reviewing the client’s brief and technical drawings, our designer, Luke, contacted the company buyer and worked closely with Kebbell Development on this Ascot project. The design approach required meticulous attention to ensure we offered the best bespoke glazing solution, which includes double-glazed sliding sash windows, roof lanterns, and bi-folding doors.

We were delighted to be involved in this Ascot project, our first with Kebbell Development. Like us, their passion for craftsmanship, quality, attention to detail, and excellence is second to none.

As the luxurious apartments are built in two visually stunning Georgian-style manor houses, the most essential criteria of the brief was to design low-maintenance, high-performance uPVC sash windows that replicate the look of traditional timber windows while achieving a 21st-century energy rating.

Luke carefully selected Bison uPVC vertical sliding sash windows with astragal Georgian bars, and run-through horns to complement the architectural qualities of the Georgian-style manor houses and their period detailing.

Bison vertical sliding sash windows are authentic in nearly every detail and are widely regarded as one of the best alternatives to timber available today.

Renowned for their timeless design and superior craftsmanship, they were chosen to maintain the continuity of period style throughout the property.

Bison sash windows hold full accreditation from Secured by Design and PAS 24, ensuring compliance with new build regulations and guaranteeing the highest level of security and energy performance.

All the sliding sash windows are designed with the classic glazing pattern of early 18th-century Georgian windows, featuring six panes over six panes and elegant glazing bars finished in smooth white. They also incorporate traditional chrome sash lifts and ring pulls, adding a timeless, authentic period touch to the interior.

Solarlux’s award-winning Ecoline bi-folding doors were chosen for their ultra-slim 99mm profile and sleek minimalist aesthetic appeal, infusing the apartments with natural light and creating a harmonious flow between inside and outside.

Ecoline Bi-fold doors are renowned for their high quality, precision engineering, low u-value of 1.1 W/m²K, and long-lasting durability.

The German-designed bifold doors were powder-coated in a combination of RAL 9016 traffic white and dark grey metallic WT029/80077 with a textured finish.

We selected AirMod French doors with glazing bars for their refined, traditional design and robust performance, which enhances the property’s energy efficiency without compromising on stylish and minimalist aesthetics.

Air Mod French doors are high-quality aluminium glazing systems with square-edged profiles. They offer outstanding energy efficiency, low U-values, impressive performance with high security, and durability.

The aluminium Georgian French doors have been finished in traffic white with chrome handles.

Four white aluminium roof lanterns create a dynamic architectural feature, illuminating the interiors with an abundance of natural light.

The crisp white lines of the windows and doors create a refined aesthetic that complements the period character of the Georgian-style manor houses, offering exceptional standards of design and innovation that are the hallmark of Thames Valley Windows.

This bespoke glazing solution offers spectacular views and enhances the visual connection between the apartment’s interior and the surrounding Berkshire countryside.

This stunning project in Ascot showcases the remarkable outcomes possible when innovation, tradition, and contemporary design are skillfully integrated. Our expertise in bespoke glazing solutions guaranteed that the final result achieved the highest standards of quality and elegance, allowing natural light to become a central feature of the interior space.

The Cholbury Place project demonstrates the transformative power of a well-designed bespoke glazing solution. Part of the project’s success depended on the strategic use of high-quality double-glazed windows and doors throughout the properties.

These glazing systems not only met the demanding performance requirements of the project but also played a key role in shaping its architectural features, creating prestigious and luxurious apartments.

This approach highlights the pivotal role of a bespoke glazing solution in achieving the project’s architectural vision.
