Two sets of oversized, award-winning slim-frame Solarlux Cero III sliding doors make an impressive enhancement to the contemporary kitchen of this stunning new build in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath.
The new build is tucked away in the tranquil surroundings of Bath, within the highly sought-after location of Widcombe village, offering beautiful elevated views across the rolling Wiltshire countryside.
This stunning contemporary new build, designed by CaSA Architects, redefines the relationship between natural light, openness, and bespoke glazing solutions to create a seamless, sustainable, modern family home in Bath.
At the core of the project are two oversized triple-track Solarlux Cero III Sliding Doors, each spanning 6,915 mm wide and 3,154 mm high at the opposite ends of the open-plan kitchen. The patio doors with stainless steel recessed floor tracks offer flawless indoor-outdoor flow, wide openings, and uninterrupted countryside views—blurring the boundary between inside and out with minimal sightlines that invite nature into the heart of the home.
Despite the glass panel sizes, the stainless steel carriage rails allow the sliding doors to glide effortlessly and smoothly along the track.
The sliding doors are finished in powder-coated RAL7021, black-grey, chosen by the architect and homeowner to harmonise with the Ashlar Bath stone and dark timber cladding on the exterior.
The triple-glazed Solarlux Cero III sliding doors are a visually impressive system that introduces a distinctive architectural feature to the contemporary building’s façade. Enhancing both its aesthetic appeal, thermal insulation, and sustainability.
The combination of large floor-to-ceiling glazed units and a 34mm narrow sightline offers 98% glass for a minimal design of the highest quality, strategically positioned to maximise daylight infusion throughout the open-plan kitchen.
Due to its innovative thermal break technology and high-performance glazing, the Solarlux Cero III sliding doors offer exceptional energy efficiency and thermal performance, an overall U value of 0.9W/m²K
