Solarlux SL 60 Horizontal Sliding Glass Wall, Billericay

Location: Billericay

This impressive renovation in Billericay had a Solarlux horizontal sliding glass wall installed to connect their living area with the beautiful patio and landscaped garden.

Thames Valley Windows met with the home owner at Solarlux’s head office in Welwyn Garden City, where the Horizontal Sliding Wall is displayed.

Our client wanted to have the area fully glazed with all glass moving out of the way for a completely uninterrupted opening. Bi-folds with a moveable corner post were not an option for this scenario as the design has two right angles, one external and one internal. We suggested the Solarlux SL 60 Horizontal Sliding Wall (HSW). The HSW is a moving glass wall which has many permutations. We worked very closely with Solarlux in Germany and the client’s architect, to achieve the design requirements.

There are 8 panels in total. Each one slides separately along a rebated track allowing you to choose how many panels you have open, or closed, at any one time. All panels slide to the left, with a passage door on the right for when you need to pop in and out. The panels, once opened, stack back beyond the opening, either inside or outside of the room, making the most of the open space and offering true, barrier-free living. You can see the doors in operation in our video below.

A beautiful project which looks stunning against the landscaped garden and water features – even in the dark!
