Mock Tudor House Renovation Benefits from Bespoke Timber Windows, Weybridge

Location: Weybridge, Surrey

We worked closely with a local architect on this beautiful Mock Tudor House Renovation to allow the homeowner’s vision to materialise.

Situated in a desirable private road in Weybridge, Surrey this detached property recently underwent an extensive renovation project including a full house of new black leaded timber windows.

The homeowners were embarking on an exciting home renovation project. They were keen to retain the property’s heritage charm and character and enhance the Tudor style aesthetics of the property.

They were eager to retain wooden windows for their authenticity and warmth but wanted to change the window frame’s colour from rosewood to a contemporary and industrial hue.

Surrey-based Concept 8 architects had used our architectural glazing services before. We were delighted to be commissioned to replace the existing windows with long-lasting, high-performance timber windows of excellent quality that will last for decades to come with very little maintenance.

Our senior designer manager Paul Mills had worked closely with the Surrey homeowners and their architect to ensure all the timber windows and the new entrance door was designed, supplied and installed within the tight Mock Tudor House Renovation schedule.

Paul arranged for the Weybridge homeowners to visit our Bracknell Showroom to discuss the timber window styles, glazing options and handles.

After much thought, they chose flush casement windows crafted in engineered European redwood and finished in dual colour, and antique black handles complement their modern interior décor.

Natural, sustainable and ethical, Thames Valley Timber Windows are available in a range of timber options from Pine (softwood) or Meranti (Hardwood) to Oak and other hardwoods for their strength, stability and beauty.

They offer a dual colour finish with the option of (stained outside / paint inside) and long-life guarantees, including five years on paint or stain finish and a comprehensive ten-year warranty on all other aspects of windows and doors.

We offer 16 different stain finishes, and all RAL or Farrow & Ball colours available for paint finishes. With an elegant selection of modern and period style window handles, and with the option of standard friction hinges or traditional butt hinges if you prefer a more authentic aesthetic.

Engineered timber profiles mean no twisting, warping or bowing of the frames. Both timbers are guaranteed for 30 years against rot and fungus.

Manufactured with the latest in timber window technology for exceptional thermal and acoustic performance, every window is Secured by Design to PAS 24 standard and glazed internally for additional security.

Our range of double-glazed timber windows also benefits from energy-efficient from A-rated argon gas filled glazed unit with Low e glazing that achieves a U Value of 1.1 W/m2K, and a secure multi-point locking mechanism.

With a choice of window finishings and glazing bars from traditional lead to minimalist Georgian detailing.

Mock Tudor properties date back to the 16th century. They are distinctive in terms of period architecture from these characteristics: steeply pitched roof, herringbone brickwork, and white render to the diamond-lead windows. The characteristic dark oak beams is a feature that many homeowners want to replicate in the colour of their window frames.

Undertaking a significant overhaul, our Weybridge homeowners have transformed their property into an elegant and luxurious home to meet the needs of modern family life, without ruining the aesthetic. Every last detail of this Mock Tudor house renovation has been finished to an exceptionally high standard.

The dual colour option that the Weybridge homeowners chose for their windows was a black (RAL9005) on the exterior and an elephant’s breath (224) on the interior.

The exterior colour of ‘Black contrasts perfectly against cream render and red bricks and the internal finish of ‘Elephant Breath’ a warm mid-grey colour provides a contemporary look to complement the stylish interior décor.

In addition to installing new black timber casement windows, into this Mock Tudor House Renovation we also installed a new Aluminium double door entrance.

From the outside of the property, the black leaded timber casement windows combine character and elegance, with their clean lines and flush finish they add a touch of grandeur to the façade.

As you enter through the stunning double door entrance, the wide hallway and high ceiling create a wonderful sense of space and light.

The slim sightlines of the black leaded wood windows allow the maximum amount of natural light to enter into every room, adding a great sense of wellbeing.

Overall, the Weybridge homeowners are delighted with the timber windows and doors they advised they were the perfect choice in the transformation of their home.

Whether you live in a Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian property a Grade II listed building, or a contemporary new build our bespoke timber double or triple glazed casement windows can be designed to exact requirements and that meet approval of your local planning/conservation officer.

Here at Thames Valley Windows, we are passionate about British architecture with a keen eye for detail and meticulous highly skilled craftsmen who can handcraft windows for every era from sliding sash windows to flush or lipped casement windows.
