Edwardian Front Door – Agate Grey Timber – Staines

Location: Staines

This recently installed Agate grey Edwardian front door offers true authenticity for this beautiful period property in Staines, Middx.

We had previously designed a similar Edwardian period front door for the homeowners at their previous property in Warfield, Berkshire. Having recently moved to their new home in Staines they were keen for us to design, supply and install a new timber front door.

The initial brief included the new Edwardian door as part of their home renovation. In addition to the new timber front door, we also installed two high-quality uPVC modern bay windows to the front of the property.

The homeowners wanted a new energy-efficient and secure bespoke timber door for their Staines home, in-keeping with character and style of the period property.

Following a visit to our Bracknell showroom, the homeowners met with our designer Michael, who discussed the benefits of our bespoke factory finished engineered timber doors from traditional aesthetics and modern-day technology to security and energy efficiency.

The Staines homeowners choose the door style ‘Kara’ a traditional European Redwood timber door with three long raised panels and a double- glazed top panel with narrow glazing bars to create the look of six small glass windows.

The timber front door is finished in ‘agate grey’ on the exterior and white on the interior to complement the contemporary décor and provide a clean ambience while keeping the hallway light and bright.

Completing the Edwardian era’s overall aesthetic and charm, the timber door and side windows are designed with mechanical joints and the homeowners choose traditional polished chrome finger pull and architectural letter plate.

Opal toughened glazing provides privacy and allows natural light into the property whilst the Winkhaus multi-point locking system ensures the property is highly secure.

Agate grey is also known as ‘Painswick’, is a fresh and tranquil colour a popular choice for heritage properties. The subtle blend of pale green and grey complements both light colour stone and brickwork.

The finished result is breath-taking; the Edwardian front door’s authentic design and two sidelights have transformed the curved porch entrance of this beautiful Staines property whilst offering cutting edge performance.

Our Staines homeowners are delighted with their new Edwardian style front door, and now have a warmer home and no longer have a draughty doorway!

All of our bespoke timber doors are 60mm thick and made from premium grade multi-layered wood to provide both greater structure and durability to the entrance doors and is defect-free and resistant to twisting or warping.

Our front door designs are designed and manufactured by highly skilled craftsmen, all timbers are guaranteed for thirty years against rot and fungus.

With our contemporary and period doors, you can choose from panelled doors to glazed panels in an array of RAL and Farrow and Ball colours, and sixteen different stain finishes, and door furniture. We also offer a fantastic range of glazing options from stained glass panels to leaded top panels.

As part of our Thames Valley Timber collection, we can design, supply and install timber casement and sash windows, French doors, bi-fold doors and front doors to properties in Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and South East.

As architectural glazing specialists in period properties, homes in conservation areas and listed buildings, we can design a new front door that stays true to the character of your property.
