The clean lines, slender profiles, and timeless appeal of these stunning black 1920s internal doors we designed and installed at a period home renovation offer a luxurious interior design.
Interior trends come and go, but Black 1920s internal doors with glass are a rising trend among Berkshire, Surrey, and Hampshire homeowners.
These internal doors were part of a significant period of home renovation where our sales director, Paul Mills, worked with Concept 8 architects and the homeowners to design a complete architectural glazing solution.
The Tudor-style detached property is nestled along a quiet, Cobham residential road. Previously, the interior was dark and relatively bland, and the architect’s key focus was to allow more natural light and create flow through living spaces. It has been remodelled with a rear extension and refurbished as a light-filled, contemporary home.
In this renovation project, to tackle the lack of natural light on the ground floor, the homeowners were keen on internal doors with glass to enable light to flow throughout the rooms and result in “brighter living spaces.”
After listening to the Cobham homeowner’s ideas, Paul recommended the Aluco Elegance range of steel look internal doors. This innovative, classic, and geometric glazing system and specification was the perfect solution for the single and double internal doors throughout the ground floor.
The1920s internal doors have been finished in powder-coated RAL9005 Matt Black, emphasising the’ steel’ look and offering a touch of finesse and sleekness
Single glazed clear laminated glass panels were selected to achieve the acoustic performance required.
Aluco is proud to be one of the leading UK suppliers of luxury interior and exterior steel-look aluminium doors.
They also offer a range of double glazed windows and patio doors, from bi-folding and sliding doors, to French doors and front doors providing a 21st-centuryglazing solution with the advanced benefits of security, durability, and performance.
All the internal doors are bespoke and manufactured in the UK with careful attention to detail. They are constructed from 100% solid chambered aluminium extrusion with no thermal break and are hand-welded to achieve a distinctive combination of elegance and strength.
Aluco’s dedication to quality and innovation has inspired architecture and interior design. Their products enrich and redefine traditional and contemporary homes, ensuring elegance and functionality.
Inspired by the Art Deco movement, these 1920s doors replicate the iconic steel doors with all the period features, offering maximum glass area, minimalist sightlines, and extraordinary performance.
These 1920s internal doors with glass have created the ‘wow’ factor to the interior and create a division between the hallway into the gym, study, living, and dining room. The combination of light and transparency helps develop a sense of spaciousness within the rooms.
Reflecting and repeating the style of the internal doors has added a sense of harmony and balance within the hallway space.
The choice of matt black for the frames is aesthetically pleasing. It has a striking impact on the overall neutral palette and minimalist interior decor, which has injected a contemporary ambience immersed in natural light that the homeowners were striving for.
The result is a traditional house with a contemporary, clean interior aesthetic that incorporates touches of luxury and comfort that have surpassed the homeowner’s expectations. They summarise as follows: We are happy with the installed internal doors; they allow so much light in and complement the main windows and doors.
As part of this home renovation project, we also installed Black Flush Aluminium Casement Windows, Slimline sliding doors and an Pirnar entrance Door to the Cobham property.
These high-quality, luxurious, elegant internal doors always stay in style and can offer the perfect solution for upgrading internal doorways in modern and traditional properties.
