Heritage French Doors and Side Panel for Garden Office Room, Binfield.

Location: Binfield, Berkshire

Another stunning installation of Heritage French doors and a large side panel for a new garden room office in Binfield.

The detached family home is located on a popular residential road in the heart of Binfield Village.

The homeowners are friends of our chairman Mark Schofield and his wife Helen and have been existing customers of Thames Valley Windows since 2006 when we first installed a conservatory to the rear of their family home. We are delighted they returned to us to design a glazing solution for their new garden office room.

Since the COVID pandemic, both clients have been working within their family home. They felt that the living space was becoming restrictive and affecting their work-life balance.

Hybrid working is set to be the norm in the way we work. As a director of an independent business, our customer needed a space that separated home distractions from a work environment yet wasn’t too far away from the family home to reduce his travelling and maximise his work time.

After researching their options and spare space in the garden, our client wanted to move his business from the family home into a garden office room. This would give him a working space to think and a professional environment to run his growing businesses and hold meetings with existing and new clients.

The homeowner’s brief was they wanted their insulated garden office room to be a feature within the garden and to incorporate an on-trend glazing solution within the design to create a bright and airy working space.

The Binfield homeowners have a keen eye for design and were keen on an art deco industrial style glazing system, including Heritage steel, look French doors.

The owners called our office to request one of our designers to visit their home to discuss energy-efficient windows and doors for their garden office room.

Our designer Luke listened to the client’s requirements and needs at the appointment and recommended that our Heritage 47 French doors and glass screen be the perfect glazing solution for their garden room project.

Window and door frame colour was also an essential consideration, as the garden office exterior would be finished with brown cladding to blend with the greenery perfectly.

The new garden office space is placed between their existing pergola and pond, so the homeowners decided that the RAL7016 matt grey powder-coated finish would match to perfection and offer the overall industrial aesthetic that the clients sought.

Both minimalistic and iconic, the Heritage 47 system is thermally efficient and inspired by traditional steel-framed windows of the 1800s. It has been carefully manufactured to closely replicate the proportions and detail of the original steel doors and window frames.

All the double-glazed units are A+ rated toughened, argon gas-filled, warm edge spacer bar and Low-E coating suitable for year-round use to ensure that the garden room office is warm in winter and cool in summer.

The aluminium frames of the Heritage French doors have a thermal break to provide high insulation levels, whilst the extra clear glass units provide maximum transparency and light.

The large glazed Heritage French doors and large side panel enables natural light to fill the garden office room and provide uninterrupted views of the pond and contemporary garden.

This garden room project shows how we worked closely with the homeowners to design and install a modern architectural glazing solution to enhance and improve energy efficiency and acoustic performance.

Heritage 47 system is a cost-effective alternative to steel windows and doors for period properties, listed buildings and conservation areas.

When our photographer visited the garden office room, the interior décor and exterior cladding still had to be completed.

Although the Binfield homeowner is settling in and enjoying his new home office and illuminated working environment, he is delighted that the new space has given his thriving business a whole new level of professionalism.

The garden office room has created a proper work-life balance for the Binfield homeowner, with a door to close at the end of the day while still only being a short walk from the family home.

The Binfield homeowners are delighted with their Heritage French doors and advised: We were attracted by the Heritage 47 design, which met my mental aspiration for a steel look style grey window with doors for the new outside office – the industrial look – I wanted a stylish view of the pond whilst working.
The Steel look French doors and large side panel have worked perfectly – better than expected – the Heritage 47 system is of great quality and more robust than I thought.
The aftercare service offered by Thames Valley Windows is very good. We had an issue with installation as the glass cracked and post-Covid delays on remanufacturing, but all ok communication was great.

They also left us this excellent Trustpilot review which we are delighted about. Very happy with the industrial style window and doors fitted to my new outside office – great environment and smooth service.

Alongside our Heritage range of external doors, we showcase a wide range of bifold doors and aluminium French doors alongside a range of uPVC, timber, composite aluminium windows, patio doors, industrial style doors and room dividers at our Bracknell showroom.
