Family Living Room Orangery, Thatcham

Location: Thatcham

This breath-taking Family Living Room Orangery in Thatcham has replaced an older conservatory and created an open plan living room and dining area that offers a fantastic amount of beautiful living space

This beautiful large, detached contemporary home, is located in a highly sought-after village of Curridge which is situated in the popular and historic Thatcham market town.

Customer retention is paramount to us. It had been nearly twelve years since our clients purchased a new double-glazed Georgian windows from us! We were delighted that they chose to return to us to design and install a Family Living Room Orangery

Suitably impressed with the quality of the double-glazed window installation in 2007 they decided to visit our extensive Bracknell showroom.

The owners approached Thames Valley windows with their home improvement ideas to remove the existing conservatory and redesign the exterior of the property with a modern extension while respecting and celebrating its period character.

After discussing the glazing and design options, the brief was to create a light-filled contemporary, minimalist open plan dining and family chill-out space while seamlessly blending the inside with the outside.

Our highly experienced architectural designer provided a personal customer service helping with advice to select high-quality glazing products to enhance and increase the value to their Thatcham family home.

Our designer created architectural drawings and a 3D visualisation of a dark-coloured Orangery extension with glazed roof and brickwork structure based upon what the extension would look like after installation and construction.

With our unique 3D architectural design service, we’ll show you how your orangery, conservatory, or kitchen extension will look on your property. We’ll take some initial photographs, and with your chosen products, colours and finishes we create visually appealing 3D images of your house and selected glazing.

Initial meetings were held with our architectural designer, the customers and a local builder to discuss lead times and building schedule. They also viewed the plans and discussed the product requirements and specification, alongside quality and performance to ensure the project kept to timescales and budget!

Once the products had been ordered, and in production, provisional installation dates were scheduled to co-ordinate with the builder and other local trades.

The homeowners advised “We have known the Schofield family for many years and appreciate how their passion for excellent customer service and products, is so inherent in everything the company stands for. Price is always a consideration, so TVW was definitely competitive. What stands out, though, is the customer service element. This is five stars in every way.”

This is an exceptional Family Living Room Orangery that has been designed and finished to the highest specification with outstanding attention to detail, meeting all the needs of modern family living.

The spacious layout optimises the flow of natural light with its Atlas roof lantern and Solarlux SL60e bi-folding doors designed to enjoys stunning rural views across Berkshire countryside

The house interior is luxuriously decorated to a very high standard. The dark grey aluminium profiles of the bi-folding doors are aesthetically pleasing, and contrast perfectly with neutral interior décor palette without being too harsh, and enhances the fantastic natural light.

Our clients also chose matching floor tiles for the and patio, creating a seamless transition between the inside and outside living spaces. We also installed a concealed drainage system, with the modern flush track system allowing for a weatherproof level floor finish inside and out.

Surrounded by an exceptionally large garden, this grand detached family home has much of its period appeal, making it a delicate interface when blending the old and the new. But this modern Family living room Orangery has transformed the property and complements the architecture and period features.

The homeowners advised “The installation has given us a wonderful, useable space, which we didn’t have before. Because we are using it as a lounge/diner, it means our existing dining room, which was never used, is now a family room and used every day. It’s light and warm, and unlike our previous conservatory (not via TVW) it doesn’t leak!”
