Georgian uPVC Windows & Apeer Front Door, Wokingham

Location: Wokingham

Our client in Wokingham initially wanted to replace their windows to duplicate the existing 70s style Georgian windows. After discussing the various design and cost options, it was agreed that we would opt for a cleaner look by removing the fanlights and reducing the amount of Georgian panes on the ground floor. The sightlines are kept completely level by inserting false casements in the fixed units. It’s not a hugely obvious change but if you compare the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos, the subtle move from 8 panes to 6 panes in the downstairs windows and the cleaner lines of the even sight-line create a tidier and more balanced look to the property.

In order to enhance the entrance it was also decided that we would totally change the appearance of the front door by partially bricking up the fully glazed side panels, creating dwarf walls either side of the front door with window boards and deep flanking windows totally changing the feeling of the internal hallway.

Our 3D visual Design service enabled this decision to be made with total confidence. Illustrating the various options helped our client visualise and choose a design they were completely happy with.
