Red Composite Front Door – Apeer 70, Warfield

Location: Warfield

We recently installed a dark red composite front door into a detached property situated within a highly desirable road in the heart of Warfield, Berkshire.

The Warfield homeowners visited our Bracknell showroom in February 2020, looking for an energy-efficient front door to replace their existing black front door.

Our clients’ key factor was to upgrade his double glazed front door with improved performance features such as thermal efficiency and security.

Our designer Joe spent time with the homeowners discussing the range of uPVC, timber, aluminium and composite front doors on display in our showroom and the range to colours and glass designs to choose from. They wanted time to think about the choice of door styles, so took a few front door brochures away with them so they could read all the benefits and security features in the comfort of their home.

Shortly after the homeowners sent an email to request a quote for an Apeer 70 composite front door, from the traditional collection, soon after our clients confirmed their order, and their contract was signed, our surveyor contacted to arrange a convenient date to visit.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the national UK Lockdown in March 2020, all of our suppliers closed their factory doors for three months. This caused a delay in production and installing the red composite door. With all the new government health and safety guidance on social distancing, it was the middle of August when our installation team arrived at the Warfield property to remove their existing door and installed the highly secure traditional red composite front door.

We also installed a smooth white door frame that is a fantastic contrast to the door’s vibrant dark red colour and brightens up the property’s entrance.

The Apeer 70 traditional composite front door is finished in a dark red wood grain finish on the exterior and white on the interior to keep the interior light and bright. The two decorative glass panels are designed with leaded stained-glass, which adds character to the entrance door and will allow natural light into the house.

The clients also chose satin silver door furniture, including contemporary door knocker, lever handle and door numbers. They also required an 18mm low threshold for mobility access.

The red composite front door is designed to open inwards you can instantly feel the high quality of the door thanks to the smooth operating butt hinges and multi-locking system.

We love how this red composite front door compliments this detached property’s red brickwork and white windows.

Throughout history, Red is recognised as the colour of passion, and tradition states a bright red front door signifies a home filled with positive energy, whilst a house with a dark red entrance door is warm and inviting.

The Chinese design philosophy of feng shui claims that South or South-West facing properties with a red front door symbolises a home filled with luck and joy.

The traditional style “Rowton” composite front door by Apeer is a popular choice for period and contemporary properties. The bright splash of colour in dark red adds warmth and kerb appeal to this beautiful Warfield property.

Apeer composite doors are triple glazed as standard and have an A rating for energy efficiency. They are defined by their 70mm thick double rebate and durable highly insulating polyurethane core and robust steel and metal reinforcing. They sit alongside a steel bar running vertically from top to bottom. They are the most secure entrance door on the market with large steel hinge bolts that ensure maximum security.

The cylinder locks are secure-by-design approved, with anti-drill, anti-bump, anti-pick and anti-snap features.

The double rebate provides exceptional levels of weather, acoustic and security performance.

Every Apeer 70 Traditional composite door is bespoke and made to measure and ideal for enhancing heritage and modern homes with timeless elegance and tradition.

They are low maintenance and designed with a natural wood grain to give an authentic ‘timber alternative’ look and come in a range of standard and premium composite door colours sprayed, bonded, and sealed to protect from cracking, peeling and flaking and ensure an immaculate appearance for many years.
