Architectural Glazing Solution for 28 Luxury Apartments, Weybridge

Thames Valley Windows were chosen by one of the UK’s leading building contractors to supply a bespoke architectural glazing solution for a prestigious residential development of 28 luxury apartments by Mountwood Homes nestled in the highly desirable town of Weybridge.

This superb up-market Weybridge development has been skillfully designed with a sense of traditional architectural style and character features. Located in one of Weybridge’s most sought-after residential locations, each distinctive apartment has been meticulously designed with the finest materials and extraordinary craftsmanship to offer the epitome of luxury living space within walking distance of the town centre.

After evaluating the client’s brief and technical drawings and submitting our quotation, we were thrilled to be awarded the external windows and door package, which included sliding sash windows and bi-folding doors.

Part of the brief was for low-maintenance, high-performance uPVC sash windows, replicating traditional timber windows and providing a good energy rating.

We were delighted to partner again with Blue Sky Cad architects and collaborate with GPF Lewis, one of the UK’s leading construction companies, to bring this Weybridge project to life.

Ryan Schofield, Managing Director of Thames Valley Windows, worked closely with the architects and construction specialist to design an architectural glazing solution for bespoke double-glazed uPVC sash windows and aluminium bi-folding doors.

Ryan conducted his on-site survey to appraise the structure, take measurements, and prepare a window and door schedule for approval before production. He ensured particular attention to detail was applied and maintained to every element of this development, including the dimensions of the Georgian glazing bars, the size of the mullions, and run-through sash horns on all sash windows. This resulted in a stunning up-market development designed and built to the highest standards, offering elegant contemporary living.

The double-glazed windows and doors are some of the architectural features that stand out and contribute to making this five-storey residential development a stunning architectural statement. In total, 91 sliding sash windows, 21 casement windows and 49 bi-folding doors of various sizes were installed throughout the luxury apartments.

The vertical uPVC sliding sash windows from the Bison collection are manufactured with symmetry and detailed proportions and with the beauty and elegance of traditional 19th-century timber joinery, such as mechanical butt joints, continuous or run-through horns, and authentic deep bottom rails, almost entirely indistinguishable from traditional timber sash windows.

All the sash windows were set back 35mm from the external stone face of the building. The low-e soft coat double-glazed units with black warm-edge spacer bar and argon gas fill offer excellent energy efficiency and feature face fix clip-on Georgian glazing bars. The frames are finished in smooth white and feature traditional chrome ring pulls and sash lifts, adding a timeless, authentic period aesthetic to the interior.

The flush uPVC casement windows from our high-performance Halo range feature a 70mm outer frame designed to sit flush within its frame for a stylish, sleek, virtually maintenance-free look. The double-glazed glass units offer superb A-rated energy efficiency; they have a Low E soft coating and are filled with argon gas and a warm-edge black spacer bar for outstanding thermal and acoustic performance.

All the flush casement windows are finished in smooth white, with chrome handles.

The market-leading BSF70 aluminium bifold doors from our AluK range were the perfect choice for luxury apartments. They are a contemporary and stylish door system with a pop-out handle that offers limitless configurations and the highest levels of security. Designed with hidden stainless-steel rollers and toughened argon-filled double glazing, this thermally efficient door system glides effortlessly along the track.

All the bi-fold doors have been finished in Hipca white and designed to open inwards or outwards onto the private terrace or balcony.

The three glazing systems maximise the natural light entering each apartment, imposing an incredible feeling of space. They also offer superb thermal and acoustic performance and enhanced security.

All ground & first-floor windows & doors have been manufactured to PAS24 Certification for Part Q.

Our expert project management team worked closely with the construction team throughout the Weybridge project to ensure the windows and doors were delivered to the site and installed on schedule, ensuring build efficiency and a delighted client.

The end result is breathtaking.
