Flush Casement Windows, Reading

Location: Reading

A large detached cottage is now full of flush casement windows in Reading. We recently transformed this beautiful home in the idyllic village of Bucklebury, with new white uPVC flush casement windows with an elegant horizontal 18mm astragal grille to enhance the aesthetic of the property.

After being let down by another double-glazing window company, Thames Valley Windows had been recommended to our client by a neighbour, as a preferred window supplier, for the quality of double-glazed windows we installed and the price.

After an initial conversation with our designer Chris, our client made an appointment to visit our Bracknell double glazing showroom for his home improvement project to view the range of double or triple glazed uPVC windows we had on offer.

Our client had been looking for low-maintenance, energy-efficient and secure windows for his detached property in Reading. They would replace the original single glazed brown wooden windows, that had seen their better days. The windows were old and tired the wooden frames were rotting and falling apart and needed regular maintenance. During the winter they weren’t keeping the heat in which meant in the colder months the rooms in the house were very cold and in the warmer summer months the rooms were too hot, and the noise from the outside was annoying.

At the appointment, our client spent time with Chris, who explained all the benefits and range of colour options and finishes in the different ranges of our highly energy-efficient uPVC flush casement windows on display. So, to help our client envisage the windows at home at the appointment he had the opportunity to open and close the windows so that he could get a feel for them and see how easy they were to operate.

Chris, one of our designers, has many years’ experience working in the glazing industry and is a specialist in uPVC windows he worked with our client offering the best advice and cost-effective solutions.

After careful consideration, our Reading homeowner decided on double glazed Halo flush casement windows with visible timber joints and scotia beading trim with a white grain finish was the best choice for his home. The clean even sightlines of the flush casement windows and addition of Georgian bars for a traditional look was more in keeping with the age and period style of this Reading property.

Soon after the contract was signed, one of our in-house surveyors contacted our client and arranged a date for a survey with our client to finalise all the window apertures height and width measurements and finer details.

Once the order of seventeen factory finished white uPVC flush casement windows, in a range of different configurations, was placed and in production, with the manufacturers, we were able to confirm a provisional installation date with the Reading homeowner.

Flush sash windows are designed with sleek sightlines to sit flush within its outer window frame when closed giving an elegant aesthetic. This window style is the uPVC alternative to traditional wooden windows which has the characteristics of a timber window that captures the charm of period window styles. while offering durability and virtually maintenance-free, with A+ energy rating performance and high-security benefits of modern uPVC windows.

Installation of all the double glazing took place in two stages; our team installed all flush casement windows in a total of four days. Thanks to the modern design of the slim flush windows frames and clever use of advanced glazing technology the Reading property now benefits from more natural light to permit through the glass, which helps to make the rooms much brighter. The light naturally warms the house, to help improve thermal efficiency and reduce energy and heating bills.

The new flush casements windows have given this Reading property a modern makeover. Their design of a timber frame window means these invaluable features to do not impede on the aesthetics of the property.
