Timber Alternative Sliding Sash Windows, Internorm Composite Tilt and Turn Windows and Solarlux SL 60e Bi-Folding Doors, Fulham, London

Location: Fulham, London

This c. 1910 property in London has been updated with a selection of new windows and doors that have massively improved the aesthetics of the building as well as making it warmer, quieter and more secure. One of our designers visited the client to discuss the various options available.

We installed double glazed, timber alternative sliding sash windows on the first floor, in keeping with the age of the property. This is a great option if you do not want the maintenance required with timber windows but you want to achieve the look of natural wood.

On the ground floor, our client chose Internorm’s timber/aluminium HF310 tilt & turn windows from the Home Soft range, finished in spruce on the inside and Traffic White (RAL 9016) on the outside. With triple glazing as standard, these windows offer the best thermal performance with a low u-value of 0.69 W/m²K.

Internrom HF310 inward-opening French doors were also installed with Georigian bars to compliment the look.

In contrast to the traditional look of the windows, the owners also wanted to add modern bi-folding doors in the kitchen to open up the courtyard space outside. They chose the popular Solarlux SL 60e bi-folding door which offer the best balance between superb quality and value. The doors are finished in the same Traffic White on the outside to perfectly match the Internorm windows,  and traffic white on the inside to compliment the modern decor. A single panel can be opened for quick access or all three panels can slide back to completely open up the room. A flush track ensures a smooth transition from inside to outside, without any tripping hazards.
