Bespoke Curtain Wall Glazing for Triple Height Entrance and Heritage 47 windows, Detached House & Annexe, Watlington, Oxfordshire

Location: Watlington

This stunning bespoke Curtain Wall Glazing for the triple-high entrance is beautiful and impressive. It is designed to maximise the views of the glorious Oxfordshire countryside, allow natural light to flood into the property, and achieve a superb feeling of space.

The homeowners were existing customers of Thames Valley Windows, and when they purchased their new home in 2021, they knew that they wanted to replace all the white Georgian windows with grey aluminium windows.

The detached property is in the picturesque rural village of Christmas Common, nestled in the Chiltern Hills in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.

Our designer, Marcus, contacted the homeowners in Watlington to understand and discuss their ideas for their home improvement project. One of the main things the homeowners wanted was lots of natural light, high-performance aluminium windows and doors that are easy to maintain, and large glass areas in the hallway to make a striking entrance.

Marcus utilised his extensive knowledge, experience, and meticulous attention to detail to collaborate closely with the homeowners. Together, they deliberated on ideas and thoroughly explored all available options.

The Oxfordshire homeowners trusted Marcus to bring their vision to life. He specified Internorm for the curtain walling system because of the quality of manufacture, attention to design detail, and performance of the product—all core to our design-led approach.

Marcus suggested that the homeowners in Oxfordshire visit our Bracknell showroom to see our range of high-quality aluminium windows and doors.

With his extensive glazing knowledge and experience, Marcus guided the homeowners through selecting the correct glazing specifications and wind load calculations. This ensured that the aluminium curtain walling would be manufactured to the precise specification, a testament to his expertise and commitment to quality.

After his recommendations, the homeowners were delighted to discover that our exclusive range of Internorm HF310 windows and entrance doors, Smart Heritage 47 aluminium windows, and Solarlux Ecoline Bifold doors finished in powder-coated RAL 7044 Grey Matt would provide the perfect architectural glazing solution for their Oxfordshire home.

The HF310 timber aluminium composite windows were carefully selected for the curtain wall glazing for their exceptional acoustic performance, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable living environment. With superior thermal insulation and an excellent U-value of just 0.6 W/m2k, these windows provide security and reassurance.

Insulating thermal foam, a key feature of our timber composite windows, is sandwiched between the timber frame and the external aluminium profile. This foam significantly enhances window performance by adding an extra insulating layer, maintaining a comfortable temperature inside your home throughout the year.

The timber used in these windows is not only of the highest quality but also sourced from slow-grown, sustainable forests. This choice reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility, and we believe it will resonate with homeowners’ eco-conscious values.

The Oxfordshire homeowners chose fixed windows and a special powder-coated aluminium in matte grey for the exterior and calming spruce interior to bring a touch of character and natural elegance to the property.

The breathtaking floor-to-ceiling curtain wall glazing creates a glorious, light-filled atrium entrance hall. It gives the illusion of a bright and airy space, connecting the property with nature and offering stunning views of the rural landscape. This exudes grandeur from the very moment you step into the house.

We are very thankful for the chance to have been a part of this Watlington home improvement project. We also installed 31 casement windows from the Heritage 47 system, an ideal discreet window solution for heritage and period properties. This has further enhanced the home’s beauty.

The transformation brought about by the clean lines of the matt grey window frames is genuinely remarkable. The soft, muted natural stone colour beautifully contrasts with the red brickwork and flint, creating a stunning visual effect.
