The authentic details and unrivalled quality of the timber look windows from Evolution Storm 2 were the deciding factors that influenced the Basingstoke homeowner’s decision to work with Thames Valley Windows for their renovation project on their beautiful Tudor style property in Basingstoke.
The delightful period home is nestled amongst the trees in one of the most desirable addresses in Basingstoke. Built-in 1986 with brown double-glazed windows and doors the homeowners had plans to modernise the property throughout, adding two-storey side extension to accommodate their growing family.
The homeowners contacted Thames Valley Windows via our website looking for a designer to visit their home and provide a quote for white wood grain effect flush windows. They wanted to replicate the look of traditional wooden casement windows but with the benefits of modern living and improved energy efficiency.
Our designer Joe worked closely with the homeowners and their architect during the brief to understand their vision and what their requirements were.
As part of our bespoke architectural design service, we created full-colour 3D visuals of the proposed window and door designs which allowed the clients to visualise the finished design.
After a visit to our Bracknell showroom to view the window range we have on display, the homeowners decided on Evolution Storm 2 flush casement windows due to the slim sightlines, the intricate detailing of authentic mechanically jointed timber look, exceptional energy performance of A+ and low maintenance.
The homeowners choose a white woodgrain finish, ensuring the new windows were in keeping with their lovely period home.
We designed, surveyed and installed double glazed timber look windows to the entire front and back of the Basingstoke property.
Installation of all the glazing took place in stages starting from the replacing windows in the existing property, to the glazing of the new two-storey extension, followed by the loft conversion and staircase. A contemporary aluminium front door from Pirnar, RAL7016 – anthracite grey, was installed at the very end of the project.
To enhance the heritage of the Tudor style property, all timber look windows are finished with a square leaded design.
Wanting to maintain the contemporary interior elegance, our bespoke wood effect flush casement windows boasts Ventiss teardrop gunmetal handles, whilst the French doors are finished with graphite handles.
We also provided the Basingstoke property with an equally ideal glazing solution to allow ambient light to flood into the interior and maximise the views of the garden and Berkshire countryside.
