Our client based in London met with our Designer at our showroom in Berkshire. He brought plans that his Architect had drawn up which showed a full glass-to-glass structure however, this was proving to be very expensive. Our Designer came up with a wintergarden design that met our client’s brief and was in budget. We created 3D drawings of the proposed design which allowed the property owner to visualise the end result.
The brief was to create that desired feeling of bringing the outside in. Lots of light and lots of greenery, including an olive tree planted inside.
This London Wintergarden houses a kitchen and dining area, with the kitchen being on a lower level. This involved the floor level being dug down and two roofs, each at different levels. Bi-fold doors allow the room to be opened up on warm days.
A little piece of heaven in the heart of London! Our client is delighted and said, ‘Going for a company with a very good reputation and a high-end product has paid off: despite a few hick-ups during the installation process, Thames Valley Windows has done a sterling job and the Solarlux Wintergarden has met all our expectations. Great quality finish, smooth operation of all moving parts, better than expected insulation and the glass with the protective film filters the light without it feeling unnatural. The glass extension has added more than space and value to our London property – with its amazing light all year round and the feeling of an ‘infinity garden’ it has become the heart of our home.‘
