Wood effect uPVC windows installed into a beautiful detached property in Maidenhead. The brief from the homeowner was to select a luxury double glazed window solution that would not only complement the home’s functionality but at the same time, increase its thermal efficiency and security. Bringing out the property undoubted character and charm was also going to be important.
The homeowners visited our Bracknell showroom, and after discussing their home renovations details in much detail with Michael, the architect-designer at Thames Valley Windows, they agreed on a full house of replacement windows and doors;
With so many wood effect uPVC windows across the family home, it was vital to ensure there would be no worries about extensive maintenance.
Flush 70 windows, a timber alternative uPVC windows and doors by Evolution, was selected for its timber look joint and 45mm deep window sills which replicate that of a real timber window, to create the ‘timber’ aesthetic.
Undoubtedly one of most realistic timber alternative window on the market and our most popular styles of timber alternative flush casement windows due to the unique coating on the uPVC material of a wooden effect foil, combining the traditional aesthetics of a wooden window but minimal maintenance of a contemporary uPVC window.
The minimalist design of the window frame offers all the benefits of a high-performance Evolution window. With a quality wood-effect, these simplistic and elegantly crafted fully flush casement window frames with thinner sleek lines that when closed fit flush into the outer frame which features flush lines on interior and exterior elevations. With larger glass units that allow more natural light to permit through the glass and naturally warm the house, making it more energy-efficient not to mention the impressive views of the gorgeous lake and countryside.
These timber effect windows are designed to the highest standard with a quality wood-effect, bringing an authentic heritage window style to this Maidenhead property. They replicate traditional 19th-century flush sash timber windows. so closely that they are the perfect replacement for traditional timber windows for homeowners of period properties in conservation areas.
Michael was heavily involved throughout the design process, producing a series of 3D visualisations that illustrated the various design options available. His input helped the client to visualise a potential outcome and make decisions with increased confidence that proved to be the correct one.
Perhaps the most magnificent part of the renovation is the modern glazed extension at the rear of the property. Which has been designed with Solarlux Cero III sliding doors and spans the whole breadth of the open plan living space, creating floods of natural light and opening up the room to the spectacular views of Summerleaze lake. Each sliding door effortlessly slides away from the 90-degree corner to provide a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor space. The result, a beautifully light and airy open plan dining space perfect for family dining and alfresco entertaining in the summer months.
The installation took two days to remove the original windows and install the wood effect uPVC windows. The Maidenhead property now benefits from fifteen new white wood effect windows in various sizes including two box bay windows in the bedrooms. The bathroom windows have obscured charcoal stick glazing, providing both aesthetic and practical benefits. All the white casement windows have chrome handles and high-security multi-point locking systems.
